Bi Lo Chun

China

Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun is listed as one of the Ten Famous teas of China, a close second to Long Jing. Originating from the Ling Yuan Temple in Bi Luo Peak, Dongshan county of Fuijan, the original name Xia Si Ren Xiang roughly translates to "astounding fragrance". One of the emperors during the Qing dynasty gave it the name it has today, Bi Luo Chun after the peak.

Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun leaves can only be picked in a protected area of Dong Ting Shan. These downy curled leaves produce a bright yellow cup. The first brew is strong with a lasting after taste while the second infusion provides complex shifting between fruity, floral and nutty taste notes.
