The extraordinary climate of Yunnan makes it possible to grow high quality large-leafed Yunnan teas in large quantities. The tea can easily be made into Pu-Erh as the long-lived tea plants grow strong buds, big shoots and soft leaves very quickly.
Yunnan Pu-Erh is produced through qing mao cha, meaning the large leaves are sun-dried and then go through an important process of drying and after-fermentation. This separates the green from the black tea. The leaves used for Pu-Erh are large and strong, and produce a healthy drink with unusual flavour, suitable for all ages.
