Yame

Japan

Nestled along clear rivers and lush forests in the Japanese mountains Yame is situated on the southern island of Kyushu, south within Fukuoka prefecture. Yame being relatively a small tea-producing area in comparison with Shizuoka and Kagoshima remains by far the best-known designation for certain Japanese teas, especially their fukamushi Sencha (deep steamed teas).

The first fragrances that appear as soon as the tea is poured are not disappointing. Tones of asparagus, cauliflower and a hint of roasted hazelnuts bring a little freshness to the bouquet of the cup. The aroma and almost neon green liquor is very alluring.
